GENERAL CONDITIONS:

DOGS: Absolutely no dogs allowed on the grounds.

DRUGS: The use of tranquiliser’s stimulants or any drug capable of affecting the performance of horse/pony is forbidden. Drug testing may be carried out during the show and testing of ALL animals is at the owner’s risk. Any such tests will be carried out under the R.A.S. forbidden substances judicial committee (FSJC) procedures and rules (Rule 89 R.A.S.Judge’s & Competitors rule book and the rule 55A of R.A.S. General Rules & Conditions). Prize winners may be swabbed. Any competitor aware of any administered drug to their horse/pony for medical purposes during 7 days prior to date of competition is required to notify the secretary before the competition.

R.A.S. RULES: Where applicable events are run under R.A.S. Rules. The organising committee reserves the right to alter, amend or delete any classes or start times as they see fit. There may be no lunch break. Judging for showing classes may be continuous at the steward’s discretion.

ESNZ RULES: All showjumping, showhunter classes are run under ESNZ rules. Entries must be on official ESNZ current rider registration entry forms; current horse/pony registration stickers must be attached. Horses/Ponies do not need to be registered to enter training classes. A day registration is available please contact the secretary for details.

LEGAL LIABILITY: Our association policy does not cover competitors or exhibitors, each exhibitor must supervise and control their animals at ALL times. Exhibitors must comply with Animal legislation and health and safety in employment act 1992.

ENTRY FEES & CHARGES: Postal entries received after the closing date will be treated as late entries (NON-REFUNDABLE). Late entries 50% penalty. All prize monies and fees are GST inclusive. GST tax invoices available on request. Class changes will incur a $2 alteration fee for each class alteration; owners may transfer EF to a substituted entry.

PROTESTS: Must be lodged in writing with the secretary, no later than 30 minutes after conclusion of event concerned, a deposit of $30 must accompany EACH protest. Deposit will be refunded if protest is upheld.

REFUNDS: No refund will be paid out during the show. Refunds are at the discretion of the organising committee. Entry fees are refunded less 20% if secretary is notified prior to start of days competition, vet certificate or similar to be supplied if appropriate.

PRIZE MONEY: The organising committee reserves the right to alter prize money as it sees fit.

HORSE ACCOMODATION: Overnight yards are available in the rodeo arena. Absolutely no temporary fencing allowed on the grounds.

CHILDREN’s PET PARADE

Open to ALL pets excluding horses & ponies

Children bring your pets & assemble in the front of the grandstand at 12.15pm. The judging will be done during the lunch break. ALL pets are to be suitably controlled. Ribbons. The Houghton Cup will be awarded for the best lamb.


MINATURE HORSES

There will be a Miniature Horse show this year.

A separate schedule is available from the secretary.

Novice is horse or pony with less than 6 wins in either conformation or paced and mannered classes. Local is the boundary of the Taihape ESNZ Area-from Owhango in the north to Ohingaiti & Kakatahi in the South.
